Authorities of Tonj East County in Warrap State have arrested a policeman for gouging out his daughter’s eyes over the weekend.

The area Commissioner Machauei Bith says suspect Angelo Agany decided to take his 18-year-old daughter to a village after she reportedly eloped with a man in Tonj town.

While on their way, Bith allegedly gouged both daughter’s eyes.

The county official told Eye Radio that the police arrested Bith on Monday.

He has been transferred to the main prison in Tonj town, awaiting trial.

“After I got the information that there is an incident that occurred in the area, I called the policemen to go and arrest the culprit,” Machuei Bith told Eye Radio from Tonj East.

“The culprit is in the prison here in Tong East, we took the victim to Tonj,

“We are in preparation to take the culprit to Tonj main prison because the case is beyond the capacity of County authority.”

The County Commissioner said, the teen girl is being treated at the health facility in Tonj.

He urged the family members to remain calm and warned them not to take the law into their hands.
