The police in Western Equatoria state said three people died in a suspected motorcycle accident in Yambio town on Thursday.

Major General Hussein Girisi, the Director of Administration at the state Police Headquarters said the incident occurred at Pazuo residential area in the state capital.

General Hussein said two motorcycles locally known as Boda-bodas were over-speeding through night darkness – resulting in the fatal accident.

“This accident occurred when two motorbikes collided with each other resulting in the death of three people,” he told Eye Radio.

“After that I went to the crime scene with an investigator from Traffic, two people were on one Boda boda, and the other one who came from Maridi was in another boda boda.”

“So I think they were at high speed and it was dark at night so suddenly the case happened between them when they collided themselves”.

Meanwhile, John Dazangapai, a brother to one of the victims believes that his brother was killed after the accident.

Dazanganpai said he saw the body of his late brother Sero Joseph with bullet wounds in the head and abdomen at the accident scene.

“On that accident, the two people on the motorcycle died on the spot and my brother and the person on the motorcycle was in critical condition,” he said.

“So, when the passers-by were trying to know what was happening a relative of the two victims who knocked themselves on my brother came with a gun and shot my brother because he was still alive then he died.”

“He has a gunshot wound in his head and the abdomen then when we were washing the dead body we saw deep wounds in the face”.

Reacting to the allegation, Major General Hussein Girisi said he cannot comment on that until a report from the hospital is out.

“I cannot talk about that issue because it is the doctor who will give us a full report so we are waiting for the report of the doctor after that it will be clear to us,” he said.

However, the police official said he recalls hearing gunshots at the time of the incident.

“Yes there was a gunshot yesterday but we do not exactly if it is that person so the doctor is the one who will give us a report we cannot say it was shot of a gun unless the doctor is the one who has experience about that”.

The security offiicial said he only has scanty information about the incident and will only ascertain what really happened after an autopsy report is availed.
